The name of the association is “African Women in Science”, and “AWinS”, in abbreviated form.

Motto: African women in science, Impacting the world

Purpose: Empowering & Encouraging Women, Promoting Equity and mentoring women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.

Vision: Driving development through African women in science

Emblem: she is symbolised by a woman bearing the African continent.

Address: The association head office and international headquarters is in Banjul, BP: …..Banjul, Gambia.
It may be transferred elsewhere on a proposal from the board of directors and ratification by 2/3 of the members of the general assembly. Antennas could also be created in other localities in Gambia and in Africa.

Calendar: The duration of the association is unlimited; the social year runs from December 1 to December 31.
